"God-Given Potential"
Remember, our Hispanic Congregation will be door-knocking this Saturday afternoon, and any Spanish-speakers are welcome to join them in this effort to bring Christ to the Hispanic Community in this area. The rest of us need to be in prayer that these efforts will be successful, and that many will be willing to hear the good news of Jesus.
Has anyone accepted the challenge from Sunday's sermon - to praise God each morning for who He has said you are, and then to send a quick text or make a quick call to one of your TOCC Faith Family members and remind them of the great things God has said about them? I hope you'll give it a try - blending a little old school worship with encouragement through modern technology seems like a great way to start every day, Amen? Let me know how this goes, ok?
Are we living up to the potential that God sees in us? Do we even realize the potential that God has given us? These are good questions. Let's start opening our eyes and our ears and our hearts to the calling God has placed on our lives. And then, let's see the wonderful things that will happen in The Kingdom when we start exercising our God-given potential.
We need to be thinking about the questions mentioned above. But here's a question that makes me lose sleep: "Am I doing anything that might prevent someone from exercising their God-given potential?" I'm not sure how anyone is going to be able to explain that to The Lord someday. If you want to hear the wonderful words - "Well done, my good and faithful servant!" - you better not be guilty of squashing the God-given potential of one of His dearly loved children.
We are called to freedom, and we are called to use our God-given potential for the glory of God and for The Kingdom. Let's help each other do this.
